EXINI Diagnostics ready for the Canadian market
EXINI Diagnostics, which develops diagnostic software for nuclear medicine, has been quality certified for the Canadian market through a CMDCAS certification. The company also has an application in for 510(k) clearance for the USA.
EXINI Diagnostics’ portfolio of products consists of self-developed software for nuclear medicine that builds on unique image processing, medical expertise and interpretation with the help of advanced artificial neural networks. By interpreting and analysing medical images taken with a so-called gamma camera, the software is used for image viewing, quantification, decision support and report generation for physicians as an extra guarantee at diagnosis.
The Canadian certification means that it is now possible for EXINI Diagnostics to register their products for computer-assisted diagnostics; EXINI heart™ for examinations regarding threatening infarcts, EXINI brain™ for dementia investigations and the forthcoming EXINI bone™, which interprets the occurrence of cancer metastases in the skeleton, on the Canadian market. The Canadian CMDCAS very much resembles the ISO 13485:2003 certification which the company already has in Europe, and which was renewed at the annual inspection by German TÜV in December 2007.

EXINI Diagnostics is at present working towards getting the company’s products approved in important markets around the world, where the most important is the American application for 510(k) clearance.
EXINI Diagnostics was founded in 1999 by Professor Lars Edenbrandt and is based at Ideon in Lund. The company has 10 employees and is owned by Chairman of the Board Bo Hakansson, CEO Jorgen Peterson, employees, members of the board of directors, Augmenta Venture Partner and Lund University’s holding company LUAB, among others.
